Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urges for flexible monetary policy for economic stabilization

(VOVWORLD) - With the pandemic being brought under control nationwide and the national economy recovering, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Thursday called for contingency plans and scenarios to cope with new Covid-19 variants and sufficient medical supplies in localities.

Addressing a regular government meeting for November, the Prime Minister asked ministries, agencies, and localities to thoroughly grasp the situation relating to the pandemic, continue raising public awareness of pandemic prevention and control measures, whilst focusing on public investment capital disbursement.

Prime Minister Chinh said, 'Vaccination is decisive in pandemic control and must be planned in detail. We need to complete vaccination for people above 18 by mid-December, especially students so that they could return to school. A third booster must be deployed for those identified while vaccine storage must be ensured strictly.'

The Prime Minister called for flexible monetary policies to ensure macro- economic stability and economic growth while strengthening administrative reform towards effectiveness, efficiency, transparency and democracy.
