Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc receives Cuban Minister of Justice Oscar Manuel Silvera Martinez

At a meeting with Cuban Minister of Justice Oscar Manuel Silvera Martinez in Hanoi on Thursday, the Prime Minister said Vietnam pledges to support Cuba at international forums, particularly the UN. Vietnam wants to further cooperation with Cuba, increase exchanges, and boost bilateral cooperation between Ministries and sectors. He said he believed the further cooperation between the two Justice Ministries will contribute to the development of bilateral ties.

Earlier the same day, Vietnam and Cuba agreed to further cooperation in law building, judicial reform, law education, capacity building for law workers, and business legal consultancy. The agreement was reached at a meeting in Hanoi on Thursday between Vietnamese Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long and his visiting Cuban counterpart Oscar Manuel Silvera Martinez . On the occasion, the Deputy Ministers of Justice of the two countries signed a Cooperative Program for the 2020-2021 period.
