Program honors courageous disabled people

(VOVworld) – 21 people with disabilities were honored on Wednesday in Ho Chi Minh city for overcoming hardships to reap success in life and contribute to their community. They were the winners of a writing contest called “Extraordinary Courage” launched by the Thanh Nien (Youth) Newspaper. Each honoree received a 14,000 USD prize.

Present was Nick Vujicic, an inspirational speaker born without arms or legs. Nick said he was moved by stories about courageous disabled people in Vietnam and excited to congratulate the winners of the competition in which anyone can share story, a great source of inspiration for all people. Nick’s message was “Dream a big dream and never give up”.  

A similar event will take place in Hanoi this Saturday.
