Protection measures urged to cope with extreme cold weather, coastal erosion
(VOVWORLD) - The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control has ordered subordinate authorities to implement measures to deal with the extreme cold weather and coastal erosion in northern and central Vietnam.

The Committee asked localities of Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai, Kien Giang provinces to set up experts groups to inspect and instruct measures to protect the people, crops, and animals during this cold weather spells, allocate local funds as well as mobilize timely resources for the prevention measures.
Localities also need to support local people, especially policy beneficiaries, ethnic minority people, and poor households to implement safety measures and lessen damage, including building shelters for animals and storing food and vaccines to prevent diseases, the Committee said.
