(VOVworld) – Ukraine and its western allies welcomed a decision of Russia’s Federation Council that revoked an earlier resolution on military intervention in Ukraine.

Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier proposed the Federation Council to lift a resolution on military intervention in Ukraine.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin told reporters at a NATO meeting in Brussels Wednesday the decision is constructive, crucial, and momentous. Klimkin hoped Moscow would follow suit. He said Kiev will realise a unilateral ceasefire despite that federalists had shot down a military helicopter of Ukraine’s army killing 9 soldiers. China praised Russian President Vladimir Putin for his proposal to lift the Federation Council’s resolution.
