Citizens expressed their hope for major changes of personnel work from the meeting, saying the strict punishment of officials, who violated the law, has shown the Party’s determination to fight corruption. Van Duc Long, a retired cadre of Da Nang city, said: “This time, the Party Central Committee’s plenum raised the issue of rectifying cadres, strengthen personnel work, and reevaluate cadres, who are capable and ethical to be in charge of state affairs. Offenders should be removed from the Party system to make our Party cleaner and consolidate the people’s trust in the Party.”

Nguyen Thi Kim Hoang, a retired employee, who has been a Party member for nearly 40 years, said she hopes there will positive changes in human resources development.

Many agreed to a project on building a contingent of cadres at all levels discussed at the just-concluded Party Central Committee’s meeting, saying it has met the people’s aspirations.
