Bac Lieu provincial Fatherland Front chief, Quan Trong Ninh, calls for more Party involvement in the training of staff for the front: “We need to identify key issues in poverty reduction and democracy at local levels while steering movements towards meeting people’s aspiration. Social monitoring and critic should be promoted to raise the role by the fatherland front.”
A representative of professional social organizations, Le Ngoc Dung, said non-Party members have made up half of the congress’ deputies and this reflect democracy as well as all people strength: “People’s representatives and voice have been promoted as reflected in the proportion of non-Party members, the elderly and ethnic minorities. The Fatherland Front has been closer to people and be more representative of different walks of life.”
