Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh addressed the event: "We need to honor both donors and those who motivate blood donation. Blood donation programs such as “Red Sunday” should be promoted and involve authorities and the general public."

“Red Sunday”, which is taking place in 40 provinces and cities nationwide from now until January next year, draws a strong response from young people, particularly students.

"I donate blood for those who need it and hope to receive that from other donors in case I need it someday," fifth-time donor Quang Thi Phuong Thao said.

"This is the third time I’ve donated blood. I also see the event a chance to make friends," said Kieu Thi May, another donor.
