Registered foreign investment capital hits over 21 billion USD

(VOVWORLD) - By September 20, the total foreign investment capital registered in Vietnam had reached more than 21 billion USD, equaling 81% over the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

A total of 1,900 new projects worth more than 10 billion USD had been licensed in the reviewed period. Although FDI in Vietnam had decreased over the same period, the figure is still very encouraging given the devastating COVID-19 pandemic.

Foreign investors had invested in 18 sectors. The processing and manufacturing industry topped the list with nearly 10 billion USD, followed by electricity production and distribution, real estate, and wholesaling and retailing.

Over the past 9 months, there have been 111 countries and territories investing in Vietnam. Singapore took the lead, followed by South Korea and China.
