(VOVworld) – The ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) of Turkish President Tayip Erdogan has won a majority of votes, gaining chance to win the election but it must find a coalition to form a new government, according to the election’s preliminary results.

The results based on 98 percent of the votes counted gave the AKP 41 percent of the votes, followed by the Republican People’s Party with 25 percent, the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) with 16.5 percent, and Turkey's pro-Kurdish People's Democratic Party in fourth place with 12.25 percent.
