Russia accuses US of using aid to Venezuela as pretext for military action
(VOVWORLD) - Russia on Friday accused the US of using aid deliveries to Venezuela as a ploy to carry out military action against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s government.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova criticized Washington's dangerous provocation and opposition leader Juan Guaido for picking up US aid being stockpiled on the Colombian border, which she said provides a pretext for conducting military action. She said the US and its NATO allies are discussing measures to provide weapons to the opposition camp in Venezuela and accused Washington of deploying special forces and weapons in Venezuela.
