Addressing a press briefing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said China welcomes the beginning of talks between Russia and Ukraine and hopes that process will continue in the coming days.

The same day the Khmer Times cited Cambodian Government spokesman Phay Siphan as saying that, as chair of ASEAN, Cambodia hopes Russia and Ukraine will negotiate and come to an appropriate solution to avoid the use of military force and nuclear weapons that will kill innocent civilians. He said Cambodia will remain neutral and wants them to seek a win-win dialogue for the benefit of both nations and peoples.

Cuba's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, welcomed the start of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and described them as the only way to resolve the current conflict. He called on all parties to protect the people, their property, and the civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
