Lavrov stressed that the conflict between the Ukrainian government and separatists in eastern Ukraine is getting worse, so all parties need to abide by the agreement and the Normandy Four need to exercise their role in easing the tension. He reiterated his call for Europe to step up pressure on the Kiev administration to resume talks with the separatists in Donbass.

Observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) confirmed the escalating violence and attacks that are in violation of the Minsk agreement. The separatists reported at least 10 people dead and government troops said two soldiers and three civilians were killed in recent clashes.
