Russia condemns attacks in Syria
(VOVWORLD) - Russia strongly condemns the attack carried out by the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham rebel force in Syria, said Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya.

At a meeting of the UN Security Council on Syria on Tuesday, he said Russia keeps in touch with its partners in the Astana format for Syrian reconciliation, and is coordinating its stabilization efforts in Syria with Turkish and Iranian partners.
President Putin of Russia and President Erdogan of Turkey spoke by phone about the sharp escalation in Syria, the Kremlin press office said.
The two leaders called for stronger cooperation both within the bilateral format and within the Astana process. Putin said aggression against the Syrian state by radical groups must be stopped.
The two agreed Russia, Turkey, and Iran must work together to normalize the situation in Syria. President Erdogan said Turkey supports Syria's territorial integrity and its efforts to find a just and lasting solution.
