(VOVWORLD) - Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Monday that Russia is suspending its mission to NATO as of November 1, adding that contact between NATO and Moscow may be done through the Russian embassy in Belgium.

NATO announced last Wednesday that it had cut the staff of the Russian mission to NATO from 20 to 10 members, revoking the accreditation of 8 diplomats and abolishing 2 vacant positions.
Russia condemned NATO's move to halve the staff at its Moscow headquarters in spite of Russia's efforts to dialogue with NATO.
