(VOVWORLD) - Russia will return to the Black Sea Grain Initiative after Ukraine promised not to militarize humanitarian corridors or its ports, Russia’s Ministry of Defense said on Wednesday.

Amir Mahmoud Abdullah, interim coordinator for the UN at the Joint Coordination Centre in Istanbul, welcomed the decision.
Ukraine grain ships resumed operation on Wednesday after a phone call between the Turkish and Russian Ministers of Defense, according to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
