(VOVworld)-The delay in implementing Ukraine’s association agreement with the European Union leaves space for a settlement of the Ukraine crisis, the Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said yesterday at a news conference at UN Headquarters.Lavrov said that with a cease-fire in place, and the decision of Ukrainian Prime Minister Petro Poroshenko to delay the new economic agreement with the EU, Russia can see that the settlement process in Eastern Ukraine will become sustainable. Lavrov said that he saw hope for agreement when Ukraine’s central government now promising autonomy to the country’s eastern, largely Russian-speaking region and fighting slowly declining. Talking a bout the regional security situation, Sergei Lavrov said that the crisis talking place in neighboring countries is the consequence but not the cause leading to the security crisis in Europe.
