Mr. Lavrov told RT in an interview that more than a year ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned potential negotiations but Ukraine needs to understand that "the longer it takes, the harder it is to agree on anything." He also said that Russia will not negotiate Ukraine's NATO accession and that Moscow is not currently seeking any negotiations.

Meanwhile, Russian air defense systems have taken down five unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flying toward the Russian capital, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said on Saturday. Governor Alexander Bogomaz reported the destruction of 12 unmanned aerial vehicles  in Bryansk region. In Kursk, at least two drones were shot down.
