Russian businesses show interest in Vietnamese market

(VOVWORLD) - Participants in the Russian-Vietnamese Business Dialogue in Vladivostok, Russia, said they are optimistic about the prospects of strengthening bilateral trade cooperation. The dialogue was within the framework of the ongoing 7th Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

Russian enterprises have expressed a desire to do business with Vietnamese partners and a strong interest in the Vietnamese market, based on  the long-standing friendship between Vietnam and Russia, Vietnam’s dynamic economy, and its market of 99 million people.

Oleg Deripaska, a famous businessman who owns lots of large Russian companies, said Vietnam is one of Russia's most important partners in the Indo-Pacific region, with strong cooperation in energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, and agriculture.

Deripaska, who is Chairman of the Stolypin Institute for Economic Growth, said the two have a basis for developing even stronger economic ties. He said Vietnam’s current economic development scale and speed make it an extremely attractive market for Russian products. And Vietnamese businesses with highly competitive and qualified products have many opportunities in the Russian market, he said.
