Russian communist congress

The Russian Communist Party (KPRF) held a congress devoted to its 20th anniversary yesterday/ on Saturday. About 3,000 guests, including comrades from 90 countries were participating in the gathering in Moscow.

President Vladimir Putin expressed his believe in the Russian Communist Party, which contributing to the development of the country. Chairman of Russian Communist Party, Gennady Zyuganov said: “The Russian Communist Party has strongly developed over the past 20 years, continuing to protect the rights of all levels of workers, farmers, scholar, building a much stronger socialist country. Today, we can proudly review all these achievements. We believe and determine to strictly follow the path that we have chosen.”

In that respect, the KPRF plans to urge international solidarity and ask their foreign partners to raise the issue in the parliaments of their countries, adopt respective resolutions and send them to the Russian government.

A Vietnamese delegation led by Ngo Van Du, a Politburo member and Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, attended the 15 th Congress of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (KPRF) in Moscow.

In his address, Du noted that the Congress is of great significance for not only the KPRF but also the international communist and workers’ movements throughout the world. The Vietnamese communists and people have followed the KPRF’s activities and are happy that over the past 20 years the KPRF has developed constantly and become one of Russia’s leading political parties that has had considerable influence on the international communist and workers’ movements. Du expressed his belief that the congress will help raise the KPRF’s profile in Russia, contributing to building a prosperous and happy life for all Russian people. He voiced the Communist Party of Vietnam’s determination to strengthen ties with its Russian counterpart to further develop the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia.

Representatives of nearly 100 communist and workers’ parties from across the globe attended the two-day congress which was wrapped up on February 24.
