Russian fighter jets intercept US reconnaissance planes in Black Sea
(VOVWORLD) - Russian fighter jets were dispatched to intercept two US reconnaissance planes approaching the Russian border over the Black Sea, Russia’s National Defense Management Center reported on Sunday.
According to the Center, Russian airspace control systems of the Southern Military District detected two aerial targets over the Black Sea approaching Russia’s state border on Sunday.
"An Su-30SM and an Su-278 fighter jet from the Southern Military District’s air defense quick reaction alert forces was scrambled to intercept the targets”, the center said.
