Russian President: Vietnam is one of Russia’s leading trade partners

(VOVWORLD) -Russia and Vietnam have effectively developed their strategic partnership and maintained active political meetings, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Mr. Putin made the remark at a reception in Moscow on Wednesday for Vietnamese Ambassador Ngo Duc Manh and 16 other ambassadors who came to present their credentials.

President Putin said Russia and Vietnam have closely coordinated with each other, primarily within the framework of multilateral organizations in Asia-Pacific. Vietnam is one of Russia’s leading trade partners, he said, noting that the two countries have forced closer ties in military and in military technology. He commended the effective operation of the inter-governmental committee on economic, commercial, scientific, and technological cooperation.

At the reception, President Putin stressed that Russia stands ready to support constructive initiatives proposed by the ambassadors.
