(VOVworld) – Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday began a two-day working tour of Crimea, his second visit to the peninsula since it merged into Russia in March.
The Kremlin press service reported that on Wednesday the President would confer with members of the Security Council of the Russian Federation on a number of issues including ensuring security for Crimea, preventing corruption, organizing activities of some executive bodies in Russia’s 9th federal zone which comprises Crimea and Sevastopol City. Putin was also scheduled to work with interim leaders of Crimea and Sevastopol to discuss economic activities and the local people’s living conditions.

The same day, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decision on state budget allocation for Crimea and Sevastopol until 2015. He also decided to establish the Crimean University.
