According to the Korean Central News Agency, ahead of his visit, President Putin said his visit to the DPRK would raise bilateral cooperation to a new height and contribute to strengthening the sovereignty of the two countries and deepening their relations in the economy, trade, and humanitarian sectors.

Putin also said Russia is ready to work closely with the DPRK to bring more democracy and stability to international relation.

He added the two countries will develop a trade and mutual payment system that is not controlled by the West and will jointly oppose unilateral restrictions and shape an architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia.
