(VOVWORLD) - Saudi King Salman and Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim on Wednesday discussed the status of Jerusalem and bilateral ties in their first meeting since the US recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Salam received Yildirim in Riyadh and discussed ways to boost bilateral ties and developments in the region.
Yildirim’s office in Ankara said the meeting discussed support for Palestine, quoting Yildirim as saying that the status of Jerusalem is important and “the whole Islamic world should act with unity to protect the rights of their Palestinian brothers”.
