SEA Games 2025 to take place in winter
(VOVWORLD) -The Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) 2025 will take place at the end of the year in Thailand, instead of in the middle of the year as in Vietnam and Cambodia.
The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) said the biennial sporting event of the region will take place from December 9 to 20, 2025, at three locations: Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla.
SAT has invited media reporting the ongoing SEA Games in Cambodia to a press conference ahead of the closing ceremony on Wednesday to introduce the next SEA Games. During the closing ceremony, the current host country will hand over the Games flag to the next host country.
The event will bring together participants from the 10 ASEAN members as well as Timor-Leste. This is the first time Thailand will host SEA Games since 2007.
