Second Vietnam-Japan dialogue on PPP projects

(VOVworld) – The second Vietnamese-Japanese high-level dialogue on boosting Public-Private Partnership projects opened in Hanoi on Wednesday. The dialogue was co-organized by Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment and Japan’s Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). JBIC’s General Director Hiroshi Watanabe said a number of Japanese economic groups were interested in investing in thermal power projects in Vietnam such as Nghi Son 2, Vung Ang 2 and Van Phong 1. He said that JBIC might consider funding these projects.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment is drafting a decree on PPP investment. Once completed by the end of the year, the decree will help to create a favorable environment for PPP projects, particularly in infrastructure development.
