Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Defense Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem said: “What makes the Truong Son-Ho Chi Minh trail a legend is its contribution to Vietnam’s revolution. It is a symbol of the unity among Vietnamese, Lao, and Cambodian people in the war against imperialism. Through the seminar, we have a better understanding of this important part of history. We need to apply lessons learned in the past to national construction and defense.”

War veteran Nguyen Van Khanh of Dak Nong province, said: “We hope the seminar will raise the awareness of the younger generation of their predecessors’ hardships and encourage them to join the armed forces to protect our country.”

More than 80 reports were conducted at the seminar highlighting the outstanding leadership of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, the significance of the Ho Chi Minh trail, and the unity between the Party and the people.

The wartime legendary trail started from Nghe An province and ended in Binh Phuoc province. It passes through areas of dense jungles, and served as a key artery supplying weapons, goods, food, military equipment and personnel from the North to the South during the resistance war against the US.
