(VOVworld) - A seminar entitled “International Day of Solidarity with Venezuela” was held in Hanoi on Tuesday, featuring Vietnam-Venezuela friendship and solidarity.

The event marked the 10-year anniversary of late President Hugo Chavez’s visit to Vietnam and the establishment of Venezuela’s embassy in Vietnam. Nguyen Viet Thao, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Vietnam-Venezuela Friendship Association, highlighted the countries’ past mutual support. Venezuelan Ambassador to Vietnam Jorge Rondon Uzcategui said the opening of Venezuela’s embassy in Hanoi in January, 2006, was in preparation for President Chavez’s visit, during which the two countries agreed to establish long-term cooperation in many areas.
