Senior officials extend congratulations on Chol Chnam Thmay festival

(VOVWORLD) - President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien on Wednesday extended greetings to Buddhist monks in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on the occasion of the traditional New Year celebration Chol Chnam Thmay. He urged dignities and the faithful to unite in the building of new rural areas and pandemic control.

The same day, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Mass Mobilization Commission Bui Thi Minh Hoai visited and presented New Year gifts to Buddhist monks and followers as well as Khmer people representative in Ho Chi Minh city and Lao, Cambodian and Thai students. She reiterated the Party guidelines and State policies to facilitate ethnic groups, including the Khmer, in economic development, cultural identities preservation and religious practices.
