Serbians stage large-scale protests in Belgrade

(VOVWORLD) -Tens of thousands of anti-government protesters turned on their mobile phone lights and stood in silence for 15 minutes in front of the Constitutional Court in the Serbian capital of Belgrade on Sunday, to commemorate the victims of a concrete canopy collapse in the northern city of Novi Sad last November.

Since the tragedy, the political situation in Serbia has become increasingly complicated, and many anti-government protests have broken out in Belgrade.

Traffic has been disrupted in several Serbian cities and towns, including the northern Serbian city of Novi Sad.

Although Serbian authorities have arrested dozens of individuals in connection with the incident, the move hasn’t lessened the pressure from citizens and the opposition factions.
