Shangri-La Dialogue enters the first working day
(VOVWORLD) - The 19th Shangri-La Dialogue, hosted by International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), opened in Singapore on Saturday after a two-year COVID-19 pandemic hiatus.

During the first plenary called "Next steps for the US’s Indo-Pacific strategy”, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin clarified US policy towards the region.
The Defense Ministers of Indonesia, France, and Japan discussed issues related to managing geopolitical competition in a multipolar region.
Vietnamese Defence Minister, General Phan Van Giang is expected to deliver a speech at a plenary session titled "Military modernization and new defense capabilities".
