(VOVworld) - Singapore's ruling People's Action Party (PAP) won 83 of the 89 parliamentary seats in a general election on Saturday with a landslide victory, while the opposition Workers' Party (WP) retained 6 seats, according to the Elections Department (ELD).

PAP won the election with 79.3 percent of votes, while Singapore's Prime Minister, also PAP's Secretary-General Lee Hsien Loong and his team ranked 2^nd with 78.63 percent of votes. Singaporeans got an early indication of the final results with the public release of the sample count results by ELD for the first time.
