S.Korea asks UN chief for assistance to inter-Korean dialogue
(VOVworld) - South Korean President Park Geun-hye asked U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on Friday to help restore dialogue between the two Koreas.

During a phone conversation with Mr. Ban Ki-moon on the New Year occasion, President Park Geun-hye also asked the UN to assist to improve the inter-Korean relations through a resumption of dialogue and the resolution of the North Korean nuclear issue and expand aid for the North Korean people's lives. Mr. Ban Ki-moon said he would provide the necessary support and do his best as the U.N. chief to help improve cross-border ties.
In his New Year’s address on Thursday, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un indicated willingness for talks and said he would hold summit talks with President Park Geun-hye.
