(VOVWORLD) -The Slovak delegation won first prize at the 7th Vietnam International Choir Competition that concluded in Quang Nam province on Wednesday.

Co-hosted by the Hoi An municipal People’s Committee and Germany’s Interkultur organisation, the three-day competition brought together 600 conductors, singers, and musicians in 18 choirs representing India, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Slovakia, who competed in 13 categories.
The event aimed to increase cultural understanding between countries, strengthen friendship and solidarity, and exchange art experience between Vietnam and other countries.
The competition has been held in Hoi An every two years since 2011.
