150 delegates attended a Health Working Group meeting on reforming drug evaluation and approval, stimulating creativity, and harmonizing international standards and laws.
APEC members attended a workshop on ways to improve management under the World Trade Organization’s Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade by the Sub-Committee on Standards and Conformance.
Delegates also discussed ways to improve the Illegal Logging Prevention Working Group and its cooperation with the Anti-Corruption and Transparency Working Group and Customs Procedure Subgroup.
A meeting of the Emergency Preparedness Working Group discussed results of a project on rural areas, tackling natural disasters through effective infrastructure investment, and priorities in mitigating risks for a framework on risk reduction approved in 2015.
