South Korea calls for efforts to develop alliance with US

(VOVWORLD) - During a videoconference on Monday with 180 South Korean ambassadors and consuls general, South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha called for active efforts to develop the Seoul-Washington alliance and advance the Korean Peninsula peace process in cooperation with the incoming Joe Biden administration in the United States.

She noted the importance of strengthening the two countries' trade relations and promoting their shared values of democracy, peace, human rights, and multilateralism.

Foreign Minister Kang stressed the importance of maintaining close communications with China to develop that strategic cooperation partnership, while maintaining a policy of concurrently resolving historical rows and pursuing practical cooperation with Japan.
