South Korea declares end to MERS outbreak
(VOVworld) - South Korean Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn on Tuesday declared an end to a deadly outbreak of Middle East Respiratory Syndromes (MERS) that has killed 36 people.

Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn said the danger posed by what was the biggest outbreak of the virus outside Saudi Arabia is over. Mr Hwang said that after weighing various circumstances, medical personnel and the government judge that the public can now stop worrying. He asked the public to shake off all concerns over MERS and to resume daily routine.
Thirty-six people died of the 186 infected following the first diagnosis on May 20. No additional MERS infections have been reported since July 6.
