South Korea, Japan, US to hold envoy talks on nuclear issues

(VOVworld) - Chief nuclear envoys from South Korea, Japan, and the US plan to meet in Tokyo next Wednesday to discuss North Korean issues. Participants will include Kim Hong-kyun, special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, Kimihiro Ishikane, Director General of the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, and Sung Kim, US special representative for North Korean policy.

The discussions will center on shared assessments of North Korea following the congress of its Workers’ Party and issues related to sanctions imposed on Pyongyang by the UN Security Council.
