(VOVworld) – The “Good morning Ambassador” column of South Korea’s Hankook Ilbo daily ran an article on Thursday about Vietnam’s economic reform policy. The author, Jeong Ji Yong, said South Korea and Vietnam have developed a strategic partnership.
Vietnam is South Korea’s 4th largest export market, while South Korea is the biggest investor in Vietnam. Yong quoted Ambassador Pham Huu Chi as saying that Vietnamese leaders vow to concentrate on economic growth under the market economy mechanism.
Chi said Vietnam’s top priorities in the next 5 years are to obtain a stable GDP growth rate of 6 to 7% and per capita income of 3,500 USD by 2020, while maintaining a peaceful and stable political environment and defending national independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
