Japan on Sunday slammed the two-day military drill launched by South Korea as "unacceptable", after Seoul announced its naval, air, and army forces will take part in the maneuvers around the group of disputed islands called Takeshima in Japanese and Dokdo in Korean.
Seoul has controlled the rocky islets since 1945 after ending Japan’s 35-year colonial rule on the Korea Peninsula.
