(VOVWORLD) - South Korean President Moon Jae-in and approximately 110 delegates and staff left Seoul on Tuesday to attend the 3rd inter-Korean meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang.

Kim made a surprise appearance at Sunan airport with his wife to welcome President Moon.

The meeting between the two leaders will be broadcast live. They will hold discussions on Tuesday and Wednesday, focusing on improving and developing inter-Korean relations, promoting a US-North Korea dialogue toward denuclearization, and easing military tensions.

North Korea’s KCNA news agency said this meeting aims to promote implementation of the Panmunjom Declaration for peace, prosperity, and solidarity on the Korean peninsula, calling it an historic opportunity to improve inter-Korean relations.
