Southern Culture, Tourism and Food Festival Week opens

(VOVWORLD) - The 2023 Southern Culture, Tourism and Food Festival Week, highlighted by the Ok Om Bok Festival or Moon Worshipping Festival, opened in Tra Vinh province on Tuesday to promote local tourism and preserve Khmer culture.

The week’s activities will include food courts serving traditional dishes, trade fairs promoting OCOP and specialty products of Trà Vinh and neighboring provinces, boat races, folk games, sports competitions, and new agricultural tours.

Le Thanh Binh, Deputy Chairman of the Tra Vinh provincial People’s Committee, said the program will run through next Monday.

“The Week and the Ok Om Bok Festival aim to contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of local ethnic minorities, including the Khmer. It’s also an opportunity for businesses to share experience in production and trade," said Binh.
