Speaker of Sri Lanka’s Parliament wraps up Vietnam visit

(VOVworld) – The President of Sri Lanka’s Parliament, Chamal Rajapaksa, left Ho Chi Minh city on Friday having concluded his official visit to Vietnam. During his stay, Chamal held talks with National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung to discuss ways to bolster cooperation between the two legislative bodies.

Both sides agreed to work more closely together in monitoring cooperative agreements between the two governments and creating a favorable legal environment in which their businesses could promote trade and investment. They also agreed to increase the exchange of delegations and experience in legislation and supervision and support each other in multilateral forums. The Sri Lankan parliamentary speaker also paid a courtesy visit to President Truong Tan Sang. He visited the Ho Chi Minh Museum, the Vietnam Buddhist Academy and Ha Long Bay.
