President Lam underlined the VPN’s vital role in the people’s armed forces and acknowledged its outstanding achievements over the past years, saying these joint efforts have strengthened the VPN in all aspects, ensuring its readiness for contemporary challenges.

He urged the VPN to continue playing a crucial role in building an all-people defense and an all-people war posture at sea, actively working closely with other forces and localities to build strong defense zones, following the policy of combining defense and security with economic development, and building a strong local political base to strengthen the military-civilian relationship.

“It’s important to firmly safeguard Vietnam’s national sovereignty over the sea and islands, protect the people, and improve international cooperation. Other solutions include preventing wars and conflicts early and from afar to maintain a peaceful environment for national development”.

In response to World Oceans Day on June 8, President Lam encouraged the VPN to promote public engagement in activities that protect Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty while fostering economic development.
