Storm Trami hits central Vietnam
(VOVWORLD) - Typhoon Trami, the sixth to hit the East Sea this year, made landfall in the central localities of Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam on Sunday, bringing heavy rain and strong winds.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the maximum wind speed near the center of the storm reached 62-74 km per hour.
Localities from Ha Tinh to Quang Nam have been experiencing heavy rainfall. The storm is forecast to move southwest at 1 a.m. on Monday and then southeast at a speed of 3-5 km per hour, weakening into a tropical depression over land in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Nam, and Da Nang.
The meteorological agency warned of a high risk of flooding in low-lying coastal areas, as well as the possibility of dyke and embankment erosion along the coast from Quang Tri to Quang Nam.
Airports in Da Nang, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Binh and Quang Ngai resumed operations on Sunday afternoon.
Before landing in the central Vietnam, Trami swept through northwestern Philippines on Saturday, leaving at least 85 people dead and 41 others missing.
