(VOVworld) – A Vietnamese student sports festival opened in Moscow on Saturday with the participation of more than 600 athletes from 23 universities.

Hoang Cong Trang, Secretary of the Youth Union in Moscow, said the sports festival is an important event held annually in May. The athletes attending the festival will compete in football, track and field and tug of war. Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son said at the event: “The student sports festival coincides with the 40^th anniversary of southern liberation and national reunification and Russia’s upcoming 70^th anniversary of the victory over fascism. We should play in a fair and unified manner and play with all your heart and strength”.
