The call comes as fighting between the Sudan’s army and the RSF continues, causing living conditions in Sudan to deteriorate further when at least 413 people were killed and more than 3,550 others were injured.
The same day, General al-Burhan said that the army is coordinating with other countries to assist in the evacuation of foreign nationals, amid gun battles and air strikes still taking place in Khartoum, despite the fact that the parties pledged to cease fire for three days from Friday on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan month.
Saudi Arabia has evacuated Gulf citizens from Port Sudan on the Red Sea, 650 km from Khartoum. Jordan will use the same route for its nationals. On the same day, the Italian Ministry of Defense announced that it was ready to evacuate about 200 Italian citizens from Sudan.
The Turkish Embassy in Sudan Saturday announced that it had decided to evacuate citizens from the conflict area by land via a third country. The US Embassy in Sudan has temporarily suspended all operations and evacuated its staff.
In another development, the Sudan Civil Aviation Authority has extended restrictions on flights in the country's airspace until April 30, Khartoum International Airport announced on Saturday. The Sudanese Armed Forces warn that any violation of the airspace will have consequences.
