Summer camp for young expats closes

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam’s summer camp for young expats closed in Buon Ma Thuat city, Dak Lak province, on Monday night after a 16-day journey.

This year’s camp involved activities in 11 localities. At each destination, the young expats learned about changes occurring in Vietnam as well as lessons on the Vietnamese culture and history. Participants visited many famous historical relic sites and engaged in more traditional education.

“We believe that, with the many meaningful things the young expats have done at their summer camp in Vietnam, no matter where they are living they will remember their homeland and will contribute to making Vietnam a better country,” said Mr Phung Cong Dung, chief of the Office of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, the organizer of the camp.

Vietnam summer camp 2018 drew 120 young expats from 30 countries and territories worldwide. The young expats donated more than 6,000 USD to Vietnamese heroic mothers and martyrs’ families.
