The 3-month campaign’s 800,000 volunteers built 700 kilometers of roads in rural areas, dispensed free medicine to half a million people, and constructed 1,300 new houses. Le Quoc Phong, First Secretary of the Youth Union said this year’s campaign was bigger, more diverse in goals and methods, and more effective than ever before. He said: “We will continue our volunteer work until there is nothing more that needs our support. Each locality must decide the scale and direction of local volunteer efforts. We need to clearly identify beneficiaries and promptly decide on an action plan”.
